This pendant features a bronze skull in a silver frame. The design started by hand carving the skull from wax. The silver frame was then formed around the shape of the skull. Each piece is cast separate, the skull in bronze and the base in sterling silver. The pieces are then soldered together, oxidized then polished multiple times. I put the pendant on chunky silver chain with score lines. Part way up the necklace transitions to soft leather. The necklace is finished with a brass button. I like to wear this piece to remind me to live in the moment, appreciate the past, and keep in mind that tomorrow is not guaranteed. The pendant measures a little over 1" long and about 3/4" wide.
